White needle-like crystals. Soluble in hot water. Soluble in alcohol, ether, slightly soluble in cold water, insoluble in benzene. Flammable in case of open flame and high heat. By high heat decomposition, emission of irritating smoke. Stable nature, can occur hydroxyl and carbonyl reaction. It is incompatible with oxidant, fluorine and lead acetate.
Put 122kg of benzoic acid into the reactor and add 100kg of fuming sulfuric acid while stirring. Heat up to about 100 ℃ and react for about 2 hours to obtain meta carboxybenzenesulfonic acid. Then transfer the sulfonation solution to an alkali melting pot, add 45kg of solid sodium hydroxide, heat up to melting, and react for 4-5 hours to obtain sodium carboxyphenol. Add dilute sulfuric acid for acidic hydrolysis. Cool and crystallize, filter out sodium sulfate, and decolorize the filter cake with activated carbon to obtain the finished product.
mouse oral LD50:2000mg/kg. In general, no significant risk of exposure, vapor on the upper respiratory tract, eyes and skin irritation. Staff should be protected. If the skin and eyes are touched, they should be immediately rinsed with flowing water. It is harmful to the environment and can cause pollution to water and atmosphere. Avoid contact with oxidants and alkalis. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat source. Keep the container sealed. Should be stored separately from the oxidant, alkali.
